Milk usually goes in last after allowing the tea to finish steeping to avoid a poor infusion. In British tea, the common type of milk is cow’s milk. Based on your taste, you can use milk with different fat levels, including whole, semi-skimmed, or skimmed. Besides, you can even replace it with dairy-free milk.

Sweeteners

Many tea drinkers choose to drink tea with milk and no sugar. However, as black tea has a distinctive bitter taste, adding some sweeteners can make it easier to drink for others. The most commonly used sweetener is granulated white sugar. Additionally, you can also use honey, brown sugar, or stevia.
